Patricia Apollonia Kotero has been model and actress in America over a long period of time. Her most famous work is the star of Prince's 1984 Purple Rain film and lead vocalist in the girl group Apollonia 6 Apollonia was given the title of an actress and female singer by Prince. In the '80s Apollonia was one of numerous artists who benefited from Prince. Patricia Kotero was born in Santa Monica, California in the year 1959. Her first professional venture was as a model during the latter part of 1970. She also appeared on CHiPS. The female lead of Prince's Purple Rain was her first performance from 1984. Prince changed the girl's name during this time. She was replaced by Vanity with the female trio Vanity 6 to perform in the film as Apollonia 6 replacing Vanity. Sex Shooter from the soundtrack made a tiny hit for her trio but as Prince's duet partner in Take Me with You she had more success. Kotero cut ties with Prince following an argument during the course of her career. Apollonia 6 broke up following their disagreement. Kotero went on to be featured in various minor roles throughout the time (reportedly declining to appear on the Purple Rain follow-up Under the Cherry Moon) prior to landing an appearance on the evening-time drama Falcon Crest during 1985-1986. Apollonia's debut album was released in 1988. The R&B and dance tracks were not well received by the public who purchased music. They soon ceased to exist. She remained active (if somewhat under the radar) in the role of actress throughout the decade that followed, with a few film roles on television and even issued the exercise film. In 1997, Apollonia released a Spanish/English album entitled Stay with Me. After that, she attended college and received an education in filmmaking. She also formed her own production company. Apollonia has many jobs. She has worked as model, actress and the talent manager. In 1984, she was credited for her performance on the show Purple Rain. In addition to the film, she has appeared in other TV and film projects like Black Magic Woman or The Divorce Ceremony. Kotero debuted her career as a model.
