Golf isn't like the other ball sports. It is not a game with the same playing surface. This makes it challenging to adapt to the different types of terrains that are found on every course. There are usually nine holes or 18 holes on a course. Every hole has cups which hold the ball. Each hole on a course has a teeing area to start from, and an putting green that houses the cup. There are several standard forms of terrain between the tee area and the green, including the fairway, rough (tall grass) as well as various hazards, including rocks, water, or bunkers filled with sand. Every hole on the course of golf is unique. It is either stroke play or match play. Stroke play is the most popular method, especially at the top levels.
